Pulse Jet Candle Filter
Pulse Jet Candle Filters are a type of industrial filtration equipment designed to filter fine solid particles from a liquid stream. Sharplex candle filter consist of candle shaped filter elements made out of Equi-diameter pipes, Which are housed in a Vertical pressure vessel. Candles are fixed to the headers. Each candle is covered with filter hose in Polypropylene, Polyester, Nylon, PVDF, PPE and PTFE. Number of candles depends on filtration area of filter.
Typical sequence of operations of a pulse jet candle filter is as follows.
- Filling the filter
- Pre filtration
- Filtration
- Draining of heel volume
- Drying the cake or back washing
- Dislodging the cake or draining the slurry
For fine particle filtration candles can be precoated with suitable filter aids prior to the filtration.
Pulse jet candle filter offer the advantages of high filtration efficiency, fully automated operation and ability to handle a wide range of solids loadings.

Sharplex Candle Filter consists of candle shaped filter elements made out of Equi-Diameter pipes. Each candle is covered with filter hose in polypropylene, Polyester, Nylon, PVDF and PTFE. These candle are arranged vertically in a pressure vessel. Number of candles depends on filtration area of filter. Filtration & cake formation takes place under the pressure. Wet or dry discharge is possible by means of blow back. For continuous operation two filters are installed.
